What does a doula actually do?
We give you steady, practical, and emotional support. Before the birth we help you plan and answer your questions. During labor we stay with you the whole time, with comfort and calm. After, we help you feed, rest, and settle in.
We are not medical staff. We are the person in the room whose only job is you.
Do you replace my partner?
Never. Your partner stays right at the heart of the birth. We support both of you, and often it is your partner we are guiding, so they can be present without carrying it all alone.
When should we book?
The second trimester is ideal, so we have time to get to know each other well before your due date. That said, reach out whenever you are ready. We will always tell you honestly if we can help.
How do we know if we are a good fit?
That is exactly what the free meet and greet is for. Fit matters more than anything in this work. We meet over tea or on Zoom, with no pressure and no obligation, and you decide from there.
Which families do you support?
All of them. Single parents, LGBTQ families, surrogacy journeys, everyone. Home births and hospital births, first babies and fifth babies. You are welcome here.
